Privacy
Families researching a disability diagnosis are entitled to do it without being tracked. This site is built so that reading it leaves as little trace as possible.

The short version
There is nothing to sign up for and no login. We never ask for your name, your child's name, or a diagnosis.
No ad networks, no retargeting pixels, no affiliate tracking, no sponsored content.
No Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel, no session recording, no heatmaps.
We have no data to sell, and would not sell it if we did.
What is stored, and where
- Your settings, in your own browser
- Your chosen language, your selected state, the text-size setting and the light/dark preference are saved in your browser's local storage. That data never leaves your device and we cannot read it. Clearing your browser data removes it.
- Server logs
- Our host records standard web server information — the page requested, the time, a truncated IP address, browser type — to keep the site running and defend against attacks. These are retained for a short period and are not linked to any individual. [Confirm your host's retention period and state it here.]
- Fonts
- Typefaces load from Google Fonts, which means Google receives the request and your IP address when a page loads. [To remove this entirely, self-host the font files — recommended before launch.]
- Analytics
- [If you add analytics, use a cookieless, privacy-preserving tool such as Plausible or your host's built-in statistics, and describe it here. If you add anything that sets cookies, you will need a consent banner.]
Links off this site
Some links open searches or external organisations, including government agencies. Once you follow a link, that site's own privacy policy applies, not ours. We have no control over what they collect.
The state pages link to web searches rather than storing your location. We do not know which state you selected — that choice stays in your browser.
Children
This site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect any information from children, and there is no mechanism on the site for anyone of any age to submit personal information.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act and similar state statutes give you rights over personal data held about you. Because we hold no personal data beyond short-lived server logs, there is generally nothing for us to export or delete — but if you believe we hold something about you, write to us and we will look.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, we will update the date at the top and describe the change here rather than quietly replacing the text.
